Doug Laird's "The Pick-Up Game" high quality high resolution giclee canvas reproduction. This canvas is of nine children playing pond hockey with their dog.

Douglas was born in Edinburgh, Scotland in 1946. He became interested in art very early in life. By the age of fifteen, he apprenticed at an advertising agency / art studio in his home town. During that time he also attended the Edinburgh College of Art where he studied life drawing and draped life extensively. For many years Douglas travelled throughout North America and Europe. His travels have strongly influenced the subject matters and mediums used in his paintings. Douglas enjoys working with and feels comfortable in all mediums; and his subjects include landscape, marine, nostalgia, still life, western, wildlife, children and everyday activities. Douglas, now a Canadian citizen, emigrated to Canada in 1965; and currently resides with his wife and daughter in Oakville, Ontario. In the last few years, Doug has gained even more recognition. This includes being ‘juried’ and contracted by the Royal Canadian Mint. The Mint has struck legal tender coins using images of Doug Laird. As such, Doug has achieved more and more recognition as a world class artist.
