Fiona Hoop's "Crimson and Chartreuse Abstract" original acrylic on wood board painting. This is a lovely abstract by Fiona Hoop depicting a striking red and green background with a darker red and green outer boarder, separated by an abstract blueish line through the middle of the painting.

Fiona Hoop is two women artists named Michele Woodey and Mary Kennedy. Michele Woodey graduated with honors in Fine Arts from Brighton School of Arts in England 1979. While working as an antique and art restorer in London, She continued her education with university courses in English, teaching English as a second language, printmaking and photography. From 1981-1986 Michele was a part-time tutor teaching foundation level students in conceptual development, drawing and painting while continuing to develop her own artwork. In 1986 Michele spent some time in New York, then eventually settled in Canada. She has had multi-disciplined experience as Joint Head of Montessori School art programs, guest lecturer and artist in residence at The Atlin School of Art and as Arts Council Artist in various other post-secondary and graduate school programs.

Michele Woodey has held solo exhibits of her work at the prestigious Nexus Gallery in Brighton England, at Erindale College within The University of Toronto, and multiple showings at the Leo Kamen Gallery in Toronto. Selected corporate collections include Xerox Canada, The Art Gallery of Ontario, and the University of Toronto. Her artwork is in private collections spanning cities from London and New York to Barcelona and Toronto.

Mary Kennedy graduated from the Ontario College of Art and Design in 1989 and received OCAD’s Experimental Arts Award in Painting. Since then, she has been the recipient of several Visual Arts Grants from the Ontario Arts Council, as well as from the Sheila Dick Mackay Arts Foundation. Miss Kennedy has shown with such galleries as Bau-Xi in Toronto and Lois Shayne Galleries in Montreal. Several group and solo showings have been appointed by the esteemed Christopher Cutts Gallery in Toronto, often selling out completed works on paper or canvas within a few days of opening.

She has juried the University of Toronto Student Exhibits Grant Awards, been featured on WTN Network’s Bella Productions, and has appeared in campaigns for Nokia Cellular’s ‘Connecting People’ series. Mary’s work may be found in corporate collections at The University of Toronto, Princess Margaret Hospital, Cooper Sandler & West, and Sun Life Insurance Canada. International collections reside at KPMG Worldwide, Husky Systems Gmbh, and Voorheis. Current works are regularly sought after from private collectors in Toronto, Amsterdam and Vancouver.

All fees and costs associated with shipping are separate from the hammer price (winning bid), buyer's premium and sales taxes.
Shipping and insurance can be arranged through our preferred courier, PakShip, at 905-470-6874. All shipping and handling charges will be billed through the courier. Local pickup is also available within 5 business days of payment in full. Alternatively, winning bidders can arrange their own shipping if cleared by Oakwood Auctions.
The winning bidder is responsible for understanding the import fees and import laws of their respective province/state/country. It is also the bidder's responsibility to obtain any and all import documentation (import/export licenses, certificates or other documentation) prior to bidding. Oakwood Auctions will not be responsible for bids placed on an item which is restricted in the aforementioned bidder's country. In such cases, the winning bidder will still be responsible for payment within 2 business days of receiving the invoice. Oakwood Auctions is more than happy to help bidders obtain an estimate on duties and taxes but these are just estimates; we cannot guarantee nor be held liable for the accuracy of said estimates.
Oakwood Auctions is not responsible for damaged, lost or stolen merchandise while in transit.
Oakwood Auctions reserves the right to ship parcels via our own in-house shipping methods, based on actual weight or dimensional weight (whichever is greater).
If your item has not been shipped or picked up within 5 business days of the auction conclusion, a storage fee will be charged per item at a rate of $15.00 USD per diem.
